Bible Thursday – Jeremiah 18

God told Jeremiah, “Up on your feet! Go to the potter’s house. When you get there, I’ll tell you what I have to say.”

So I went to the potter’s house, and sure enough, the potter was there, working away at his wheel. Whenever the pot the potter was working on turned out badly, as sometimes happens when you are working with clay, the potter would simply start over and use the same clay to make another pot.

Jeremiah 18:1-4

See…I knew this would happen.  I post one small section and I’m ready to do a whole study on Jeremiah.

Lucky for you I don’t have time for that just yet.

Here’s what strikes me about these verses.  God can make me better without changing who I am or what I am made of.  Have you ever been through a  time when it felt like God was ‘smashing your pot’?  It’s not a speck of fun, I can tell you that.  But I love that God doesn’t throw the clay out.  He just starts over.
